Adjustable Back pack straps

Firstly, the backpack usage of straps was an essential requirement. We created adjustable padded straps alongside top loaded tote bag style handles which means you can travel seamlessly from office to evening. Whether you’re commuting, traveling, or heading to a café, we needed a bag which kept your hands free but didn’t look like a traditional backpack.

Regardless of where you’re going, and especially when hoping on the bike, loading your bag onto you back is a must and was a non-negotiable feature in the development of the perfect travel companion.

Featuring a Laptop compartment

Sometimes we were stuffing a long weekends worth of clothes in our bag, but on a day to day basis we’re organising our work day essentials. We designed a women’s waterproof laptop backpack which could do both. A highly padded Laptop compartment houses and protects anything up to a 15-inch laptop. The bag can then simply be zipped up and folded down to reduce the volume to offer a more discreet, sleek style suitable for the office.

Safety considerations and pocket placements

Roaming around outdoors on coastal paths or woodland terraces mean that many backpacks don’t consider the need for where you stash your valuables. Often being on and off trains, tubes or trams in crowded areas, we needed to create a safe place for our keys, cash, debit cards. A security zipped pocket placed at the top front of the bag which then folds over, was a necessity and allows access to your essentials quickly and easily whilst hiding its location from prying eyes.

A waterproof zip enclosing another useful pocket has also been added to the front of the bag for easy access to less valuable items

Umbrella or water bottle pockets

Open side compartments have been added to stash an umbrella or water bottle to each side of the bag for further practicality.

Dog lead attachment

Many of our customers are dog lovers and owners and we felt this was one practical attribute missing from many bags we reviewed in the market. So, we added a subtle stud secured webbing strip to one of the bag straps.

This simply un pops to allow the dog lead to be fed through the webbing strip and stud fastened again to allow hands free moments when stopping off to buy a coffee in the park

Extendable or retractable in volume

The ability to change the volume is one of the main features which offers such versatility when using our “voyager”. We trialled our prototype for many months before moving to the next stages of development and at full volume we were delighted to find that a week’s supermarket shop could be strapped to our back! (25 litres).

Alternatively, a long weekend’s worth of packing could easily be housed for the journey up to Edinburgh on the train, and once there, it retracted to make a more sleek and appropriate size for getting around the city throughout the day and evening.

Ecological and sustainable materials

As all of us who are conscious of the polluting nature of the clothing and accessory industry, we obviously wanted to make our product from a quality material which had been considered in its development. The material used for our voyager bag is a water based PU material which has been produced from tracked recycled waste plastic products.

This means that the source of the recycled product used is known as “true” recycled waste product and the dyestuffs used created from a water-soluble mixture, reducing pollution to our waters.
Creating any product has a carbon footprint and our approach as a brand is to strive not only to use materials which are less harmful to the environment, but to make robust quality products which we think will stand the test of time. Ultimately, the best travel bag is one that reflects your personal style while meeting your everyday needs.
