WATERPROOF- Waterproof rating in excess of 15,000mm (3 x British standards requirements for waterproofing)
WINDPROOF-The innovative waterproof membrane prevents cold air from penetrating the fabric, providing a protective warm shell in windy conditions
BREATHABLE- A technical microporous membrane allows body moisture to move quickly through the jacket avoiding any build up of sweat (unlike rubber or PU jacket options)
SEAM SEALED - Every seam has been fully sealed with a waterproof tape to ensure no water passes through any stitch holes
HOOD- Every jacket in the collection has a removable or stowable ergonomically cut 3-way adjustable hood. This delivers full visibility, coverage and secures tightly in high winds

Technology
Our feminine four-way stretch outer fabric has been laminated to a high performance microporous membrane which stops any water molecules passing through the fabric - even in the stormiest of conditions. Unlike PU or rubber forms of waterproofing our technology imperatively allows your body to breathe (body moisture molecules can move through the membrane avoiding a build-up of sweat inside your jacket). The result is a soft, fluid, comfortable technical jacket with no noisy rustle in movement and no restriction in wearā¦. whatever the season. setting, or activity.
Sustainability
Made from recycled yarns and manufactured by a team who work differently. We collaborate closely with our female owned factory who specialise in slow, high quality manufacturing. Employing friends and family, and with each person expertly trained in all skills, one person often completes our garments from start to finish. Our fabric mill is Oeko-tex and blue sign certified and additionally publicly declare their own carbon footprint with a mission to constantly reduce.

This is the shortest piece in our collection designed to sit on the hips for hiking, soft sports or city sightseeing. The collar is softly shaped and shallow to avoid distraction when cycling or playing golf. Model height is 5ft 9 inches. Oh my goodness I LOVE the City Walker! I was looking for a smart waterproof coat as my hiking jacket is more technical than smart for going out in. I have the PS mac from 5 years ago (still in excellent condition) but I wanted something shorter. I thought Iād need the size 10-12 as thatās what I tend to wear. Unfortunately that size is out of stock until next year but when I emailed for sizing advice it was suggested I try size 12. It fits me perfectly (I have long arms!) and so can fit a jumper underneath. It is very flattering and has been tested in heavy rain – stayed waterproof. I have worn it with jeans but it will also look good with more dressy skirt and heels. I bought the Atmosphere White as having had a colour and style consultation a couple of years ago, I knew the other 2 colours wouldnāt suit me. The colour is actually a warm putty – really nice. I just hope so can keep it clean! I wonāt be hiking in it.

I’ve had my eye on PS coats for a while and when I saw the collaboration with Brompton, it was a chance to see one in the flesh at the Brompton Junction store, particularly as I was looking for a new cycling jacket. Of the two styles, I preferred the shorter length but didn’t like the colour so, after some recommendations from Abigail, started looking at the original PS styles. The City Walker is almost identical to the Brompton jacket and is a perfect cycling jacket. It’s thin but warm and keeps out the wind and rain. It’s also, most importantly, breathable so I don’t arrive at my destination in a sweaty mess. I’ve also worn this out on a long walk and it’s perfect and very stylish with the straight cut, high collar and adjustable cuffs. I’m petite at 5’1″ and the size 6-8 is a great fit with room for a thin puffer for when it’s cold.

Originally bought a City Walker Dark Olive in UK 10-12 because I am a 10 above and 8 below; however it was way too baggy and had to size down to UK 6-8. Just for reference the fact I had to order the smaller size is maybe due to the fact that I am 5’3″ and with a petite frame. I ordered the City Walker after many months of coveting a Protected Species jacket and am thrilled with it. The material is so soft and it sits well on the body, draping nicely from the shoulder rather than making you look wide and bulky like other rain coats. The workmanship is also of very high quality ā I look forward to wearing it out and testing it in the rain! Iām a size 14 and the 12-14 size fits well (thanks for the advice Linzie) ā I wouldnāt necessarily get a big chunky sweater underneath but thin layers work fine.

Received my City Walker in black this week after much deliberation and dithering. Absolutely love it; the material is gorgeous and the black is a true dark black. I was worried that it would be too short for me as Iām 5ft 9 but it looks just fine with the hem coming to my top hip. Very versatile and I can imagine wearing for work or casual. Linzie was a great help with sizing advice (Iām a standard size 12 and opted for the 10-12 in this style which fits just fine) and delivery was amazingly quick arriving the day after I ordered it.
