WATERPROOF- Waterproof rating in excess of 15,000mm (3 x British standards requirements for waterproofing)
WINDPROOF-The innovative waterproof membrane prevents cold air from penetrating the fabric, providing a protective warm shell in windy conditions
BREATHABLE- A technical microporous membrane allows body moisture to move quickly through the jacket avoiding any build up of sweat (unlike rubber or PU jacket options)
SEAM SEALED - Every seam has been fully sealed with a waterproof tape to ensure no water passes through any stitch holes
HOOD- Every jacket in the collection has a removable or stowable ergonomically cut 3-way adjustable hood. This delivers full visibility, coverage and secures tightly in high winds
STRETCH- Soft, fluid 4-way stretch fabric delivers complete comfort in wear and no restriction in movement
Technology
Our feminine four-way stretch outer fabric has been laminated to a high performance microporous membrane which stops any water molecules passing through the fabric - even in the stormiest of conditions. Unlike PU or rubber forms of waterproofing our technology imperatively allows your body to breathe (body moisture molecules can move through the membrane avoiding a build-up of sweat inside your jacket). The result is a soft, fluid, comfortable technical jacket with no noisy rustle in movement and no restriction in wearā¦. whatever the season. setting, or activity.
Sustainability
Made from recycled yarns and manufactured by a team who work differently. We collaborate closely with our female owned factory who specialise in slow, high quality manufacturing. Employing friends and family, and with each person expertly trained in all skills, one person often completes our garments from start to finish. Our fabric mill is Oeko-tex and blue sign certified and additionally publicly declare their own carbon footprint with a mission to constantly reduce.

This is the shortest piece in our collection designed to sit on the hips for hiking, soft sports or city sightseeing. The collar is softly shaped and shallow to avoid distraction when cycling or playing golf. Model height is 5ft 9 inches. Originally bought a City Walker Dark Olive in UK 10-12 because I am a 10 above and 8 below; however it was way too baggy and had to size down to UK 6-8. Just for reference the fact I had to order the smaller size is maybe due to the fact that I am 5’3″ and with a petite frame. I ordered the City Walker after many months of coveting a Protected Species jacket and am thrilled with it. The material is so soft and it sits well on the body, draping nicely from the shoulder rather than making you look wide and bulky like other rain coats. The workmanship is also of very high quality ā I look forward to wearing it out and testing it in the rain! Iām a size 14 and the 12-14 size fits well (thanks for the advice Linzie) ā I wouldnāt necessarily get a big chunky sweater underneath but thin layers work fine.

Received my City Walker in black this week after much deliberation and dithering. Absolutely love it; the material is gorgeous and the black is a true dark black. I was worried that it would be too short for me as Iām 5ft 9 but it looks just fine with the hem coming to my top hip. Very versatile and I can imagine wearing for work or casual. Linzie was a great help with sizing advice (Iām a standard size 12 and opted for the 10-12 in this style which fits just fine) and delivery was amazingly quick arriving the day after I ordered it. I donāt think this will be last purchase!

I finally decided on the white so it would be summery and go with everything but i had some worries about the colour as white can sometimes look a bit cheapā¦.neednt have worried, this jacket is stunning, it looks so classic, the colour is fabulous kind of warm white. I own two different colour ways in this jacket and have worn them for daily dog walks in spring, summer, autumn and winter! Light enough to stay cool in the Scottish summer sun/rain and warn/roomy enough to layer up during the worst Scottish snow storm (I was toasty warm with this coat and a thick jumper underneath during āthe beast from the eastā).

I have yet to properly wash it, but the quality of the finish makes me think that this will be a breeze. Iām so happy that I have just placed an order for the commuter coat in black.

I bought the white one specifically for a March trip to Rome. I wanted something that was more stylish than a traditional waterproof, but that still had all the performance. I LOVED the look of this when I saw it and the reality didnāt disappoint. In fact, I loved it so much when I got it that I bought the black one too! It was absolutely perfect in Rome ā living up to its name admirably. Itās lightweight, looks good zipped up or open, good at keeping the chill breezes off too ā especially if the hood is stowed, the collar provides a great neck warmer! After two delightfully sunny, if chilly, days I was beginning to get worried that it wouldnāt rain I was so keen to get my hood out ā luckily we had showers on our third day so I got to test the whole kit and it worked brilliantly. I felt so good not being encased in crackly brightly coloured Goretex while walking for miles around Rome. A brilliant purchase that I would recommend to anyone. The only criticism I have, and I am really going some to split this hair, is that the flap at the back quite often folds itself up when you first put the jacket on, but a quick sweep as you āadjust your dressā sorts this out immediately. This is a lovely thing, with stylish details like the longer sleeves and the angles on the hems / zips. If youāre wavering at all just try it and see what you think, theyāll take it back if you donāt like it (thatās another thing, the people are great, you get personal emails, outstanding service!). I bet you wonāt be disappointed!

Itās 100% waterproof ā I can guarantee that as Iāve been rained on a lot! Smart enough to wear to work but Iāve also worn it for walks too!
