Our feminine four-way stretch outer fabric has been laminated to a high performance microporous membrane which stops any water molecules passing through the fabric – even in the stormiest of conditions. Unlike PU or rubber forms of waterproofing our technology imperatively allows your body to breathe (body moisture molecules can move through the membrane avoiding a build-up of sweat inside your jacket). The result is a soft, fluid, comfortable technical jacket with no noisy rustle in movement and no restriction in wear…. whatever the season. setting, or activity.
Made from recycled yarns and manufactured by a team who work differently. We collaborate closely with our female owned factory who specialise in slow, high quality manufacturing. Employing friends and family, and with each person expertly trained in all skills, one person often completes our garments from start to finish. Our fabric mill is Oeko-tex and blue sign certified and additionally publicly declare their own carbon footprint with a mission to constantly reduce.
The Odyssey is purposely oversized and has been cut to be worn on its own or over your winter coat when the weather drops. We recommend size S-M for people who are UK dress size 10/12 or below, and size M-L for UK size 12/14 and over. Model is a UK dress size 14 and is wearing a size M. This is a fantastic piece – looks stylish, fits over all sorts of outfits, and it really does keep you dry. I tested it in horizontal rain on a west of Scotland beach around Christmas time. Another amazing piece from Protected Species this is my 11th one so do think I have an addiction. They are just such well made, look more unique than other things on the market and provide amazing rain protection. I ordered mine the Thursday before Christmas and it arrived the next day which was such a lovely surprise. The Odessey caught my eye due to the length as my other jackets all protect to above the knee but lower was getting soaked. This one is perfect for coverage, has the brilliant peaked hood that protects from the rain. I got the smaller size as I wasn’t sure what was best and I am glad I did as it is a lovely fit. Would highly recommend for anyone trying to brave the UK weather can see it being used all year as fits lovely over jumpers and other jackets.

Just purchased the Odyssey in olive green size S/M and it’s perfect! Asked for advice via the sizing questions and had great reply from them suggesting this one and I’m so pleased – I’m 5 ft 8 size 12 athletic build and this really fits well slightly oversized which I love but I’ll be able to put a really thick jumper/fleece or thin quilted coat under it too I the winter – bought for walking the dog and standing at football matches so having tested in the wet yet but sizing and length are spot on!

This raincoat is well worth the money! It fits easily over my thickest winter coat but looks equally good on its own. I wore it over a few rainy days in Scotland and it was indeed waterproof and wind resistant without making me sweaty. It packs up small in a suitcase and is light and easy to carry. The white colour is very stylish, hasn’t stained at all and it’s so well made it’s an absolute pleasure to wear.
